Description of Project:
Virginia Tech’s Peer Mentor Champion Training is designed to build capacity in public organizations by providing the tools and training employees need to create customized peer mentoring programs that are meaningful for their specific environments.
The workplace peer mentoring train-the-trainer program is designed to equip employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively mentor their peers. During the program, participants learn key mentoring techniques, effective communication strategies, and how to provide constructive feedback. They also gain an understanding of the importance of building trust and setting clear goals in a mentoring relationship.
The training is interactive and hands-on, with participants engaging in role-playing exercises and real-life scenarios to practice their mentoring skills. They also receive guidance on how to create a mentoring plan and track progress with their mentees.
By the end of the program, participants are equipped to mentor their colleagues, help them develop their skills and reach their full potential. This train-the-trainer program not only benefits the mentors themselves, but also contributes to a more cohesive and productive workplace environment overall.
