Alma D. de León (Daughtry)
Alma D. de León (Daughtry) serves as the Operations and Fiscal Coordinator for VTIPG at the Richmond campus, where she plays a vital role in ensuring the execution of operational and financial functions across the organization. She holds an Associate of Science in Accounting from TREND Business College in Kennewick, Washington.
In her current role, Ms. de León acts as a central point of contact for day-to-day operations. Her responsibilities include coordinating catering and logistics for events, managing office supplies, overseeing facility maintenance, and administering financial processes. She also schedules and manages space usage, maintains program calendars, supports onboarding and document management, participates in strategic and emergency planning, tracks inventory, conducts asset audits, and ensures proper disposal of outdated equipment.
Prior to joining VTIPG, Ms. de León dedicated over 27 years to the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture, working within the Virginia Cooperative Extension program. Her roles included administrative support in the Petersburg Unit, support to the Director of the 4-H Foundation, and the 4-H Foundation Board of Directors, and providing administrative support in both the Northeast and Southeast District Offices under the leadership of three different District Directors.
Earlier in her career, she served for 12 years with Yakima County Schools, Wapato District, in Washington State. She began as a bookkeeper for the Middle School Association of Student Body and a bilingual special education tutor. Spanish translator for both verbal and written parent documents. She later transitioned to the superintendent’s administrative office, where she provided administrative support to the Special Education Director, the Federal Impact Deputy Superintendent, and the Superintendent of Schools.
